I see charges on my card that i dont recognize
Have you seen charges on your card coming from Ribbet that you can't explain? Here's what might be happening:
Subscriptions are automatically renewed
Monthly and annual PAID subscription plans are automatically renewed at the end of your billing period (the date of your initial purchase). Any charges you might see on your card may simply be your renewal was processed.
To cancel a subscription, you may do this from your Ribbet account under Settings
You didn't to cancel your subscription
You subscribed to a Monthly/Annual plan a while back and simply forgot to cancel your subscription. It happens! This is what you can do about it:
Log back into your Ribbet account and cancel your subscription. Once you've done that the billing cycle is deactivated and all future billing charges will end.
If you know/remember which email is associated to the Ribbet account but you forgot the password, you can reset your password to log back in again and cancel your subscription.
If you don't remember both your email and password for your Ribbet account: not a problem! You can reach out to us and we'll help you recover your account.
You have more than one paid account
When it comes to double charges it's also likely due to you having two PAID Ribbet accounts. It happens more often than you would think and it's likely you might have forgotten you had an existing account and you've created and subscribed to a new one with a different email.
One way to track where the charges are coming from is to login into those email accounts and see if you have a confirmation from Ribbet on the day of the charge. For every transaction made, Ribbet sends a confirmation email to you (Don't forget to check your spam folder / bin / old emails you don't use anymore).
Another possibility is a past due billing charge from the previous month was only successful in the current month. With the charge from last month and the current being successful it may look as a double charge when it's not.
Small charges
If you a small charge (between $0.50 USD - $1.00 USD) this is only for Credit Card verification and is standard practice for merchants (Like Ribbet) who store credit cards for subscriptions. If it isn't automatically refunded by your bank it may take up to 5-10 business days.
Payment Method Access
It's worth asking your spouse/partner, kids/relatives or even colleagues that may have access to your payment information. That could explain if none of the explanations above applies to charges you do not recognise.
However, If Ribbet can verify if any charges were indeed fraudulent, we will refund you immediately.
Contact Ribbet First
If you still can't figure out where the charges are coming don't hesitate to contact us. We take your concerns seriously and we'll be able to investigate further.
However, if you immediately dispute these charges with your bank it may limit our ability to get to the bottom of it.
