Clone

NOTE: The clone tool is the PRO tool and you can use it fully if you have subscribed to our premium plan. If you are on the free plan, you'll be able to preview what you applied but you won’t be able to download/export the project/image.

What is the Clone tool?


The Clone tool will allow you to duplicate a desired area to another within the selected photo. You will find it located in the Editor on the far left menu called Tools:

Open Project/Image -> Click Tools -> Click Сlone

I want to Clone my Photo


You can easily clone your image by following these steps:

  1. Move your cursor to the area you'd like to clone
  2. You will see the target cursor

  1. By left-clicking your mouse, you can start applying clone from the selected source

Selecting the Clone source


When you first open the Clone tool no need to select anything additional from the left panel - just move your mouse cursor to the image, place it over the image area you want to clone, and with a left-click activate the Clone source.

Changing the Clone source


If you want to change the Clone source, please go back to the left panel, where you will notice the "Change the Clone source" button

Click the "Change the Clone source" button

You will notice that the Clone source selection target is again available. Just move your cursor to a new area you'd like to clone and left-click on it!

Applying Clone


After the Clone source is selected you will notice that the second circle, the brush circle will be displayed. To start applying Clone just left-click the mouse and hold/click to apply the clone.

Erasing the clone that was applied


Cloned too much? No worries, it's possible to erase the unwanted cloned area, on the left panel switch from the Brush tool to the Erase tool. After clicking the "Erase" button you will see the brush circle with the tip "Erase Cloned Area". Now you are ready for erasing!

Brush size

You can change the brush size when you apply or erase the Clone tool by changing the Brush size slider value, which is located on the left panel

Brush hardness


You can change the Brush hardness slider value, which is located right under the Brush size slider on the left panel.

Increasing the value will give you a sharper application of the clone effect while decreasing it will behave as though you are airbrushing onto the Photo. By default, the hardness is set halfway.

Fade


Want to adjust the opacity of the cloned area? No worries, the Fade slider is just right there, on the left panel 😉 By increasing the slider value you will notice that your cloned area slightly fades away.

Move tool


You can easily move within the zoomed-in image by activating the move tool, without losing any progress or needing to select the clone source again

On the left panel, you will see the Move button - just click on it to be able to move within the zoomed-in image. You can also activate it by pressing-and-holding the spacebar on your keyboard


How do I save or discard changes applied


The Clone tool is applied in real time and you do not need to do any additional clicks to save your progress. If you want to discard the latest applied brush or erase strokes - just click the Undo button. To retrieve the undone change use the Redo button, it will be shown as active if you previously undo any action.
